With an official Stay-at-Home order announced for Indiana, EARPS will continue to shelter in place with our foster pets. The board made a decision in early March to cancel all events, adoptions, and intakes. All overflow pets were transferred to temporary fosters as we encouraged all volunteers and supporters to practice safe social distancing and help flatten the curve.
Activities related to the health and well-being of both people and pets does qualify as an essential service, so the care of our rescues will not be affected. Volunteer fosters will continue to house, feed, socialize, and monitor all animals in our care.
Once we have a plan in place to reopen, we will resume reviewing applications for both volunteers and adoptions, to be waitlisted for when things return to normal. As a result, our usual 2-week reservation hold will be extended to 30 days after the rescue returns to business as usual.
Thank you for your understanding while we all navigate these uncertain times. Be safe and healthy as you shelter in place with your family and pets.
